A complete set of the first American editions, all first printings, comprising The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950), Prince Caspian (1951), The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952), The Silver Chair (1953), The Horse and His Boy (1954), The Magician’s Nephew (1955), and The Last Battle (1956).

First published between 1950 and 1956, The Chronicles of Narnia became one of the defining fantasy sequences of the twentieth century, drawing upon Christian symbolism, classical mythology, fairy tale, medieval romance, and children’s adventure literature to create one of the most enduring imaginative worlds in modern fiction.

Condition: Contents generally clean throughout, with the text unmarked. A few volumes bear neat previous-owner signatures on preliminary leaves, and one volume bears a pictorial bookplate to the front pastedown. Bindings remain sound and square, with minor shelf wear, occasional rubbing, and light bumping to corners and spine ends.

Original dust jackets present on all seven volumes. Five jackets retain their original prices; the Prince Caspian jacket is unclipped. The dust jacket for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader lacks its rear flap. The jackets otherwise show moderate edge wear, chipping, and small losses. A Very Good complete set of Lewis’s landmark fantasy sequence in its first American printings.
