A wartime A. & C. Black edition of Carroll’s classic, illustrated by Charles Folkard, whose bright theatrical style gives this edition a distinct early twentieth-century decorative character. 

Contents clean overall, with light tanning and scattered foxing, heavier to endpapers and preliminaries. Previous owner’s inscription to front endpaper. Binding remains firm, with slight forward lean. Boards bright and clean, with moderate sunning to spine and board edges.

Dust jacket very good, unclipped, with light edgewear, small tears and chips, and faint dark marks to panels and spine. A very good copy of the Charles Folkard illustrated edition in the original dust jacket. An attractive copy retaining the uncommon pictorial dust jacket.
