Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien in which Lewis would attempt a “space-travel” story, while Tolkien would attempt a “time-travel” story. Lewis’s contribution became Out of the Silent Planet. The Trilogy constitutes Lewis’s most sustained exploration of theological, philosophical, and speculative themes in fiction, presenting outer space as spiritually alive and morally ordered.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition: Contents complete and generally clean, with minor foxing to the text-block edges. Out of the Silent Planet is bound in teal colored cloth, retaining strong color with minimal shelf wear. Perelandra bound in bright robin-blue cloth, boards bright with sun fading to the lower portion of the spine. That Hideous Strength, in black cloth, has a spine lean, though the binding and text block remain sound. A very good set.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll three original dust jackets are present. The pictorial panels remain substantially complete, with chipping, edge wear, and losses, most notably a larger loss to the lower portion of the Perelandra spine panel.
